Meet the executives at KnipBio.

Larry Feinberg
CEO & Co-Founder

Larry Feinberg, PhD., is an entrepreneurial industrial biotechnologist and the CEO and co-founder of KnipBio. Larry completed his doctoral studies at the University of Massachusetts where he focused on biogeochemistry, physiology and genetics of hyperthermophilic microbes. He has deep expertise in early-stage technology ventures and bio-product discovery.  At Mascoma Corporation, he led the Organism Discovery group and New Business Opportunities team.

Christopher Marx, PhD., is the co-founder and CTO of KnipBio as well as an Associate Professor in Biological Sciences at the University of Idaho. He is a molecular biologist and evolutionary biologist who uses experimental and mathematical approaches to study function and evolution of biological systems. He brings 17 years of experience in R&D, including advancing many of the genetic tools used in the field today. After double majoring in Biology and Environmental Engineering from MIT, Christopher earned his doctorate in Microbiology from the University of Washington. He held positions at Michigan State University and Harvard University in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology.

Catherine Pujol-Baxley
VP Research & Development

Catherine Pujol-Baxley, PhD., is the Vice President of Research and Development at KnipBio. She brings a wealth of scientific experience as the former Associate Director of Strain Engineering at Genomatica and before that as a scientist at Verenium (Diversa). She is the owner of several patents and has been published numerous times. She received her undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry from the Universite de Montpellier in France, masters in Food Science from ISIM, holds a a doctorate in Microbiology from INRA and completed post-doctoral studies at the Universities of California, Davis and Berkeley.
